	These pages are an attempt to tell of my trips. I started hiking about 9 years ago with several trips to Pictured Rocks in Michigan's upper peninsula. The ultimate goal of these hikes was to prepare for a long solo hike on Isle Royale. After 4 trips to the Rocks, I made a solo 12 night hike on the island. Since then, I have continued to update this site with pictures from my trips. I hope to make it back to Isle Royale at least once a year and for now am dreaming of the 2 week hike in Glacier National Park that I hope to take some day. Comments or suggestions, email me here.

Isle Royale - September 2008 - Hiking Everywhere East Of Hatchet Lake (again)

My first trip to the island which took me on a very non-direct and blister filled course that encompassed parts of the Feldtmann, Greenstone, and Minong trails plus several shorter ones.

My fourth trip and first via the seaplane. I flew into Rock harbor and spent 7 nights exploring just about everywhere on the eastern side of the island with the exception of Lane Cove. Also on the drive home, I stopped at Rictured Rocks for an afternoon hike.

My second trip to the island and my wife's first. Relatively short hikes with nights at Daisy Farm, Lake Richie, and McCargo Cove. We finished with a long 15.5 mile hike back to Rock Harbor along the Greenstone.

Me and my wife rented a cabin at the base of the smokies and drove to many of the popular spots. We were even able to do a few day hikes thanks to the mild weather.

This was the second time I've hiked the complete length of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It's a much easier hike than Isle Royale and you're next to the water almost the whole time.

This was a day hike I took on the way back from Isle Royale around the Chapel Loop on a very rainy afternoon.

My third and favorite trip so far. Much milder temperatures in the fall make it a more pleasant experience and the views from the Minong and Feldtmann are wonderful. One the way home, I took a quick tour of Porcupine Mountains state park.

My fifth trip which is planned for 8 nights. Once again by seaplane and as a kind of compliment to last year's trip. This time I plan on hiking almost everywhere on the west side of the island, including Malone Bay, the one place on the island I have not been.

My sixth trip and the third time I've stayed for 8 nights. I flew into Rock Harbor and took an indirect path to Windigo which included most of the Greenstone and the Feldtmann trails

This year I returned to Pictured Rocks and took 5 nights to hike from Miners Beach to the Au Sable East campsite and back.

My First trip to the Manitou Islands which consisted of a very short overnight stay on the south island. I did however get to see most of the island.

My seventh trip to the island. I took the Queen IV over so I began and ended at Rock Harbor. I ended up staying 7 nights made it as far west as Todd Harbor. I also spent two nights at Chippewa Harbor.
